TARA O'BRIEN
Tara O’Brien, a native of Co Mayo, founded Ireland’s Hotel Planner in 2014 following a successful career spanning over 25 years as a sales and marketing professional in the hospitality industry. Her role during this time included responsibility for organising many group holidays, tours, conferences and themed breaks for clubs, societies and companies. She brings these skills to Ireland’s Hotel Planner to provide a complete booking service for your group trip.
Sales and marketing support
Her industry experience has also allowed Tara to become adept at helping hotels, guest houses, bars and restaurants achieve their business goals using a mix of both modern online and more traditional offline sales and marketing methods. Tara has a proven record in achieving sales and reaching revenue targets within different markets of the industry.
From Athlone back to Westport
Tara began her career in hospitality in Athlone Institute of Technology studying Hotel & Catering Management. While there she completed placements with Forte Hotels in the UK and also with Brian McEniff Hotels based in Sligo. She went on to join the sales and marketing team with Brian McEniff Hotels where she enjoyed many years based at their hotels in Rosses Point, Co Sligo and in Westport in her home county of Mayo.
Ireland’s Hotel Planner is born
In 2005 she took the role as Director of Sales and Marketing at the busy Mulranny Park Hotel where she remained until the spring of 2008 when she moved to the McWilliam Park Hotel in Claremorris, Co Mayo where she was part of the sales and marketing team. After six happy years there she decided it was time to use her considerable skills and experience to create a specialist sales and marketing and booking service - Ireland’s Hotel Planner.
She is passionate about the hotel & tourism industry in Ireland and loves nothing more than exploring all that Ireland has to offer to the holiday maker. She enjoys three short staycations each year with her three daughters and husband and is constantly on the look-out for new ideas and ways of planning as she travels!
